The JCCP was formally launched in February 2018. Its primary aim is to help the public to be more informed about the risks associated with these treatments and to provide a mechanism (the JCCP Practitioner Register) to clearly identify safe and appropriately trained practitioners who practise in these specialist areas.
Transform is the longest established provider of both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic interventions in the UK. It is part of The Transform Hospital Group, an elective healthcare and wellbeing provider, which also offers weight loss interventions via The Hospital Group brand. The Group is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care to patients and contributing to improving the exacting standards expected in the sector.
This partnership means that:
- Transform regulated health care practitioners involved in the provision of non-surgical treatments will join the JCCP Practitioner Register and sign up to the JCCP and the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority Joint Code of Practice.
- Transform practitioners will be individually identified on the JCCP Register so that patients seeking treatment can be assured that their professional competence and qualifications accord with JCCP and CPSA standards and can identify them using a search facility on the JCCP website.
- The JCCP and Transform will work together on a series of marketing and communications initiatives to raise public awareness of the risks associated with non-surgical treatments and the importance of using fully competent and registered practitioners.
Professor David Sines – Executive Chair – JCCP said,
‘The JCCP is delight
ed to announce its first major partnership with a national chain of clinics/hospitals providing non-surgical treatments – Transform. We are both totally committed to the need to raise awareness amongst patients of the importance of recognizing risks attached to some of these treatments and to only go to a recognized practitioner. We both share the primary aim of enhancing public protection and patient safety’.
Tony Veverka, CEO of Transform said,
“Transform is dedicated to providing patients with the highest standards of care. To deliver on this promise, we are taking a leading role alongside the JCCP to drive up standards across the industry so all patients can start their treatment journey with confidence in the practitioner, the clinic and the standard of care being delivered.
“The JCCP will provide a much-needed marker of quality for practitioners carrying out non-surgical treatments so that patients can have confidence in the safety and standards of their treatment. We are delighted to be the first provider to join the JCCP register and hope that other providers will follow suit so that good standards are raised and recognised across our industry.”
About the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners
The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP), was formally launched in February 2018 as a ‘self-regulating’ body for the non-surgical aesthetics and hair restoration sector in the United Kingdom and has achieved Professional Standards Authority (PSA) recognition and charitable status. The charitable status reflects the overarching not-for-profit mission of the JCCP which is to improve patient safety and public protection. The concept of the JCCP was envisioned by the Department of Health and was instigated by Health Education England on behalf of NHS England and the Department of Health.
The primary aim of the JCCP
is to provide a mechanism to enable the public to be more informed about the risks associated with non-surgical and hair restoration treatments and to clearly identify safe and appropriately trained practitioners who practise in these areas of specialist treatment. In order to achieve these aims the JCCP has now established a Government (Professional Standards Authority – PSA) approved Practitioner Register and a Register of Approved Education and Training Providers.
The JCCP Practitioner Register is open for practitioners. Please go to:
