Property Redress Scheme
About the Property Redress Scheme
The Property Redress Scheme is a consumer redress scheme authorised by the Department for Communities and Local Government and by the National Trading Standards Estate Agency Team to offer redress to consumers of lettings, property management and estate agents. The main purposes of the Property Redress Scheme are to allow agents to comply with their legal requirement to be a member of a government authorised consumer redress scheme and to settle or resolve complaints made by consumers against our members.
Giving your clients peace of mind
All property agents that carry out estate, lettings and property management work, as defined by legislation, must join a government authorised consumer redress scheme. Joining the Property Redress Schemes adds value to the product you provide and gives your customers peace of mind that if they do have a complaint it can be resolved by an independent third party who have experience in dealing with consumer complaints.

Our Members and consumers will both benefit from our simple three stage process to resolve the complaint:
- The Member will first be given an opportunity to resolve the complaint directly
- The Property Redress Scheme offers a mediation service
- The Property Redress Scheme Ombudsman will make a binding decision on the complaint
