Keeping compliant – First Hamilton Fraser Academy event a resounding success!

The 22nd November 2018 saw the launch of Hamilton Fraser Academy’s first Legal update & compliance’ course.

The SOLD OUT course, led by Susie Crolla of the Lettings Training Centre, provided a comprehensive look into the rules and regulations experienced throughout the changing lettings industry.

Now more than ever it is important for letting agents to understand how their business fits into the market. Being up to date and legally compliant is now part and parcel for lettings management and so it is important to get this right from the start.

The course, designed for agents of all sizes, focused on key topics influencing letting agents including the tenant fee ban, GDPR 2018, HMO regulation, Deregulation Act 2015, Form 6A (formerly section 21) and the Immigration Act 2016.

Delegates were also given a tour of Hamilton Fraser’s offices, showcasing the abundance of solutions Hamilton Fraser has to offer, including our Tenancy Deposit Protection scheme, mydeposits, Client Money Protection (CMP), The Property Redress Scheme (PRS) and our insurance and legal services. To round off the day delegates were also invited to stay for a networking lunch with likeminded agents who are experiencing similar challenges.

All delegates received a certificate of training, 3.5 hours of CPD, and most importantly the skills and knowledge that will help them support and continue to raise standards within the industry.

Delegate feedback was wholly positive with attendees commenting that they liked the raw experience offered by both Susie, and Hamilton Fraser Brand Ambassador and Founder of Landlord Action, Paul Shamplina, enjoyed the layout of the day and appreciated the open forum that allowed them to contribute easily and ask questions throughout the session.

Hamilton Fraser Academy is looking to the future of letting in a world of rapid legislative change, with additional courses planned for 2019, including ‘Future proofing your lettings business – the tenant fee ban’.
