Under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, it is the landlord’s legal responsibility to get a Gas Safety Certificate every year following a gas safety check carried out by a gas safe registered engineer. You must then provide existing tenants with a copy of the certificate within 28 days of the check being carried out give the most up to date certificate to new tenants at the beginning of their lease.
