Project Manager

Borehamwood | Salary: up to £60,000 | Working hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our newly created Programme and Strategy Team.  The Project Manager will plan and manage digital transformation projects across the Group ensuring timely quality delivery on budget.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking to consolidate their project management experience in a rapidly growing organisation in Borehamwood with a real family feel that can offer you a vibrant working environment and industry leading training.   Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 year’s experience of managing projects in IT / change environments.

Some of the things you’ll get up to:

  • Plan and manage digital transformation projects across the Group
  • Consult stakeholders and develop project briefs
  • Develop and maintain project plans and initiation documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain risks, assumptions, issues and decisions registers
  • Manage internal and external resources to execute the plan and meet schedule and quality requirements
  • Develop project and programme standards as required
  • Guide and mentor junior project managers and project support staff

We’d like you to have:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience of managing projects in IT / change environments
  • A demonstrable track record of delivery across the full lifecycle of project activity (start-up to project closure)
  • Experience of managing third-party suppliers to deliver products
  • Excellent communications capability and senior stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Ability to analyse information and summarise clearly
  • Flexibility to work both on strategic and tactical developments while retaining the bigger picture
  • Ability to work at pace in a fast-changing environment
  • Team-oriented, professional work ethic, committed
  • Experience in insurance and financial services preferred, but not essential
  • Intermediate-level (minimum) Microsoft Project (or other project planning tool with equivalent functionality)
  • High-level of expertise in Microsoft Office suite of products; including, Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Visio

You’ll also need to have:

  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification
  • Agile / Scrum qualification (or five years’ experience in working in agile environments)
  • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) preferred, but not essential
